Saturday May 2nd - Sunday May 3rd, 10am - 6pm SOLD OUT
Saturday May 16th - Sunday May 17th, 10am - 6pm
Saturday June 6th - Sunday June 7th, 10am - 6pm
Over the course of a weekend, this workshop offers a comprehensive exploration of the exciting possibilities of three-colour aquatint. You will begin by preparing your first zinc plate to receive the aquatint, and then etch the plate in nitric acid before inking and printing from it. The process will then be repeated with your second and third plates, building your three-colour artwork on the paper stage by stage. By the end of the two-day workshop you will be fluent in all aspects of the process, and ready to develop your own three-colour print practice further.
All materials- zinc plates, inks, paper, protective gloves and solvent-based cleaning products- are included in the price of the two-day workshop. All you need to bring with you (apart from your keenness to master the technique!) is the imagery that you would like to use as the starting point for your exploration of 3-colour aquatint.
Hot and cold drinks are also complimentary.
